I THINK WE ALL SHOULD TAKE A STEP BACK AND REMEMBER WHY THERE WAS A ROE v. WADE in the first place. The case was about 50 years ago.
Why was it necessary to create a abortion law in the first place ?
It was necessary because women were dying and getting infected in unlicensed back room clinics and treated by unqualified and unregulated non-professionals. Women were damaged, scarred and infected. Many young women died due to complications that could not be resolved because many facilities did not have the ability to handle complications. So the balance on one side was that some women became infected, and some women died. The other side of the balance was to have the unwanted pregnancy run to full term, give birth and put the baby up for adoption. Fifty years ago it was a different world. I know ! There was a big stigma about a girl or young woman having a child out of ” wedlock “. It was a big taboo with many “Holier Than Thou” people back then that liked to pass judgment and whisper , and gossip. So that is the super short recap of Roe v. Wade. Women no longer had to go to unsanitary, unqualified , underground back room abortion clinics. They could go to a clean and sanitary medical facility and be treated by qualified trained medical professionals.
What I do NOT understand is why the SUPREME COURT of THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, by a very slim margin, would vote to take away the reproductive rights of women. 4 MEN and 1 WOMAN voted to strip those established rights away from MILLIONS OF WOMEN IN THE USA. WHY ARE ANY 4 MEN QUALIFIED TO PASS JUDGEMENT ABOUT A WOMANS RIGHT TO CHOOSE REGARDING MEDICAL PROCEDURES?
IF A WOMAN HAS MONEY, I AM SURE THERE IS NO PROBLEM FLYING TO ANOTHER STATE AND HAVING THE PROCEDURE IN A PROFESSIONAL, CLEAN AND SANITARY MEDICAL FACILITY.
SO WHO WILL IT HURT ? THE POOR WOMEN THAT ARE STRUGGLING THROUGH LIFE AND DO NOT HAVE MUCH MONEY. THEY ARE THE WOMEN THAT WILL AGAIN BE REQUIRED TO SEEK BACK ROOM ILLEAGAL ABORTION PROCEDURES BY ” WHO KNOWS WHO ?”
IT IS NOT RIGHT. IT IS A SIN ! THESE 5 JUSTICES ARE ALL CONSERVATIVE AND I SUSPECT THAT IF SOME WOMAN IN THEIR FAMILY WAS RAPED AND BECAME PREGNANT, THEY WOULD CONSIDER AN ABORTION IN A NICE CLEAN AND PROFESSIONAL FACILITY.
I watched the awards banquet when Will Smith became angry with Chris Rock. Chris Rock is a comedian and a great comedian.
However, some subjects should off limits. I think comedians sometimes push those limits a little to far. Chris Rock pushed the limits with a bad joke about the wife of Will Smith. Many people thought that Will Smith should have exercised restraint. I think that Will Smith did in fact exercise restraint. Maybe Chris Rock missed the movie ” ALI ” where Will Smith portrayed Muhammad Ali.” When Will Smith got up from his chair and “headed’ for Chris Rock I CRINGED ! It looked to me like Will Smith was going to knock him out ! But he controlled himself to a point but he was fuming. Chris Rock is a fantastic, witty comedian. However, some things need to be off-limits. Comedians often push it to the limit.
I assume that Chris Rock later made an apology. I assume that Will Smith and his wife accepted his apology. Will Smith and Chris Rock are two VERY talented individuals. I hope they are still friends. Chris Rock is guilty of some poor judgement. ( we have all been there) Many people criticized Will Smith for not exercising restraint. Will Smith (in my opinion) DID exercise restraint. It looked to me like Will Smith was initially going to knock Chris Rock OUT ! However, he backed off with just a slap.
Maybe Chris Rock missed the movie, “ALI” . Will Smith portrayed Muhammad Ali and his performance was INCREDIBLE !!! I remember watching the news back when the movie ” ALI ” was released and how hard Will Smith worked out and sparred so he could honor the memory of Muhammad Ali.
I hope they both have ” let it go ” and are friends again. They are both very talented in their professions.

Hello Murdoch ! I do not talk about it very much because I do not like to ALIENATE people. I have had a few experiences that are better than Science Fiction. THIS IS A NEVER ENDING ISSUE THAT WILL NEVER BE RESOLVED ON A NATIONAL LEVEL. I AM AMAZED THAT WE HAVE FIVE SUPREME COURT JUSTICES THAT SOMEHOW CAN JUSTIFY THE REVERSAL OF ROE v. WADE based upon their ” PERSONAL ” religious beliefs !! They want to repeal a law that has been the law of the land in THE USA FOR DECADES ! Their justification is based only on their personal religious beliefs and not respecting the ROE v. WADE decision that has been the law of our land for decades ! ROE v. WADE gave WOMEN reproductive rights over their own bodies. So is our current SUPREME COURT setting new standards ? Are the 5 religious Justices going to be setting other changes and precedents based on THEIR individual spiritual beliefs ?? That sounds like the beginning of a very slippery slope to me !
I thought that it was the job of the Supreme Court to interpret and apply the existing laws and it was the job of the Legislature to submit new laws and to submit any changes / addendums to existing laws via due process !

I must admit that after watching the interaction between these two leaders, I like Vladamir Putin very much also and I respect his position and I think it is obvious that he made some very strong points !
