ROE v. WADE II

I THINK WE ALL SHOULD TAKE A STEP BACK AND REMEMBER WHY THERE WAS A ROE v. WADE in the first place. The case was about 50 years ago.

Why was it necessary to create a abortion law in the first place ?

It was necessary because women were dying and getting infected in unlicensed back room clinics and treated by unqualified and unregulated non-professionals. Women were damaged, scarred and infected. Many young women died due to complications that could not be resolved because many facilities did not have the ability to handle complications. So the balance on one side was that some women became infected, and some women died. The other side of the balance was to have the unwanted pregnancy run to full term, give birth and put the baby up for adoption. Fifty years ago it was a different world. I know ! There was a big stigma about a girl or young woman having a child out of ” wedlock “. It was a big taboo with many “Holier Than Thou” people back then that liked to pass judgment and whisper , and gossip. So that is the super short recap of Roe v. Wade. Women no longer had to go to unsanitary, unqualified , underground back room abortion clinics. They could go to a clean and sanitary medical facility and be treated by qualified trained medical professionals.

What I do NOT understand is why the SUPREME COURT of THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, by a very slim margin, would vote to take away the reproductive rights of women. 4 MEN and 1 WOMAN voted to strip those established rights away from MILLIONS OF WOMEN IN THE USA. WHY ARE ANY 4 MEN QUALIFIED TO PASS JUDGEMENT ABOUT A WOMANS RIGHT TO CHOOSE REGARDING MEDICAL PROCEDURES?

IF A WOMAN HAS MONEY, I AM SURE THERE IS NO PROBLEM FLYING TO ANOTHER STATE AND HAVING THE PROCEDURE IN A PROFESSIONAL, CLEAN AND SANITARY MEDICAL FACILITY.

SO WHO WILL IT HURT ? THE POOR WOMEN THAT ARE STRUGGLING THROUGH LIFE AND DO NOT HAVE MUCH MONEY. THEY ARE THE WOMEN THAT WILL AGAIN BE REQUIRED TO SEEK BACK ROOM ILLEAGAL ABORTION PROCEDURES BY ” WHO KNOWS WHO ?”

IT IS NOT RIGHT. IT IS A SIN ! THESE 5 JUSTICES ARE ALL CONSERVATIVE AND I SUSPECT THAT IF SOME WOMAN IN THEIR FAMILY WAS RAPED AND BECAME PREGNANT, THEY WOULD CONSIDER AN ABORTION IN A NICE CLEAN AND PROFESSIONAL FACILITY.

Just my opinion,

Marc David

  1. I think the reasoning they gave was to take the protection away at the federal level & give it “back” to the state level… & we all know how even-handed *that* is (not). A fifteen-week limit is reasonable (12 weeks is 3 months, a trimester), but 6 weeks is not.

  2. well, I’ve been hopping around sites today. Plus, I somehow changed my name and left the website with the older version of the site.

As far as abortion goes, I don’t know if these “holy people” realize what happens to young women who are low socially and economically. Women, and I’m sure a few men even, end up forced to have sex. It’s like rape but more social. People might not believe me. That’s fine. It’s just that these women are powerless. I carry genes that helped cause mental illness and my learning troubles growing up. They refused to sterilize me, saying I had to be over 30 or have 2 kids. I’m fairly sure they don’t get a choice in that, but I was ignorant at the time. I have had my life destroyed multiple times over sexual issues. People would say I wanted “so and so,” or they’d say I was sleeping with everyone, or my manager tried to date me and then fired me when I said, “no.” In the army, I was sexually harassed at work, and they also called me a hooker when I’ve never even gone all the way. This is because I live in the Bible Belt where cults infect our cities and traumatize us. Sexuality is purity here, not dedication to a sick relative, understanding, forgiveness, or willingness to sacrifice for others. Those qualities are here in a few ways, but people will pull out the sex card every time almost. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j8ZF_R_j0OY

    1. Hello Inker, thank you for your comment on my ROE v. WADE II – If it is any consolation….you do not seem crazy to me.
It does sound like you have endured a lot of pain and sorrow. I know it when I hear it and I know it because I also have endured pain and suffering. Emotional and kind people are often considered “weak” and are abused by stronger people that take advantage of OUR
sensitivity. It is strange that the simple teachings of the Bible are often perverted by people that belong to cults. Cults are magnets for people with insecurities. We all have OUR OWN insecurities to deal with. Moments of doubt and pain.
I like your “…dedication to a sick relative, understanding, forgiveness and willingness to sacrifice for others. You strike me as a kind and giving person. I will check out the U-Tube address ( if I can figure it out ) I think you are fine. You make perfect sense to me.
Be kind and be careful. Many People are stressed to the max ! Inker…. just keep being you ! If you do need counseling, do it !
There is no stigma about getting professional help. Been There and Done That ! With the right professional, they can help us to understand ourselves and give us a new perspective about out world. I’ve done it and it can be a refreshing and cleansing experience ! I am here if you ever need someone to talk to via e-mail. I am at: dockbaker1@gmail.com
Sending you good thoughts and PEACE to you INKER !

  3. I had a baby die in the womb but did not miscarry. Had I not had an abortion procedure, most likely the decaying fetus would have caused infection leading to my death. At best I couldn’t have had the two beautiful daughters I had subsequently. A woman in Texas with a similar situation could not have her dead fetus removed because of abortion laws. (She did have the procedure in another state at great cost to the family.) In my opinion this is just cruel. Reproductive decisions should be private among family and physician.

    1. LuAnne Holder, there must be many thousands of stories that are this bad and maybe worse. Religious insanity at it’s worst !
I support women to make their own choices over their bodies and health care decisions. Women need to have the support of their families and also always a good idea to consult with their physicians. That also is a choice. There must be many hundreds of thousands of stories that are heartbreaking. I support women’s right to choose regarding medical procedures over their own bodies.
It is logical. Equal rights ! Men do ! Men have sex with no intention of having children. Should every sperm survive ??
There was a time not that long ago that many religious zealots taught that men and women should not have any sex at all unless they are having sex for pro-creation. It is nonsense. Most every teenage boy has happily killed countless sperms. Does every sperm have the right to life ? Yes, I know what the point of conception is but it is still an accurate analogy. Sperms are alive until they either die or fertilize an egg. Perhaps there should be a law against teenagers masturbating or a law that men should only have sex for procreation and not for fun. YEAH, THAT WOULD GO OVER LIKE A LEAD BRICK ! HIPOCRACY AT IT’S WORST LuAnne !!
It is those “Holier Than Thou” people that disappoint me with their lack of compassion for the people that are already living.
However, I support any and all women the right to choose their own path. Men do. I do.
Marc ….. nice to meet you LuAnne. A pleasure.
